Do you think "gothic" teenagers are really what they say they are?

You remember or still do see the kids walking down the hallway with black clothing and dyed black hair, chains on their clothes, really long black coats, eye liner that covers almost all of their eyes, kids who don't really try to communicate, kids who try and scare you, kids who stare at you all the time, kids who tell you they hate life, kids who write sad suicidal poems all over their binders. Do you think those kids who claim to be "gothic" and/or "emo" really live up to it? Or do you think they do it to attract attention? Why do you think kids decide to take such drastic measures in their appearences?

kids that dress in all black are just as bad as the kids who spend 300 bucks on a shirt..really think about it..they just express themselves differently.

Just a phase,they want attention.

They complain about their life when they have a big house and food on the table.

I do not care what they wear what they put on their face what color they dye hair what music they listen what language they speak as long as they do not bother me.

Just talked about this the other day...

I think that emo is just a "personality" (if you could call it that, more like a disguise) that people hide behind when they have no character/personality of their own. I think they just do it for attention. Right now, for the kids around me, emo is just a fad. (Hopefully) It'll be over with in a couple years for them (at the most, I pray) and they'll be on with something else "more important".

Goth is different, in my opinion. Goth is more a style of apparel rather than a personality.

Hmm I think there just trying to be them...I mean I was never one of those kids but I remember hating life and it sucks. High school is hard and sometimes that how people react. I think that we should just accept them all because only Jesus can judge. lol They scare you? LOL

I think that most of them are just trying to hide behind the make up and the clothes. But there are some that really live up to it.

I have yet to find a "goth" teenager who actually knows what Goth is.
