Any tips on child biting?

I watch two twin boys and have a 2 1/2 year old myself. One of the twins always bites his brother and my daughter. I have tried time out and explaining why not to bit, I've tried putting him in his crib (he hates that) and explaining, I tried flicking his mouth not hard to get him to stop, I've tried telling him no, I have tried getting the other kids to bite back that doesn't help. Recently he has been pulling my daughters hair to were he gets clumps of hair in his hand. I have done everything I could think of to get him to stop, any suggestion on how to make him stop. Oh I have also tried some hot sauce but he likes it. I have no other clues. Please anything would help. Thanks.

It is sad that this is even a question. What are the people of our world coming to? Corporal punishment is vital. When he bites, beat the **** out him with your hand. Don't use a belt or other tool, because they know that you need it to punish them, and they will hide it or wait until they are far from it to start acting up. When you use your own hand, they know it can come anywhere, any time. I don't mean baet them like leaving painful bruises or injuring him, but to the point that you know its hurting them. You see this behavior in nature all the time. It is very unnatural to not be physically dominant over the child. You will raise weak children that are not ready to fit into the real world. And what if something happens and this kid is required to perform a life or death function, like lost in the wild or kidnapped or something seriously trying? If we don't start toughing up these kids, like our parents did and theirs before, our nations future is doomed to a weak and inadequate population. And as far as these not being your kids. Do it anyway, if the parents don't like it, they won't bring them back. We have a responsibility to our own. Just think of how our parents and all the great people of America would be if their parents refuse to smack their a.sses? Ok, thats my rant. I'll take my two points and walk off into the sunset . . .

my dad always used a belt when i misbehaved

Problems is the parents. Parents need to discipline their kids. Spank their butts, it won't kill them.

I would talk to the parents to see what they do. If they don't give you any good answers I would put a piece of jalapeno pepper in his mouth. That will really burn the crap out of him. I don't mean to be cruel but what ever works!!

First of all if the children are not yours then you should talk to thier parents. keep putting him in his crib everytime he does that eventually it should work. If it is really that bad maybe you shouldnt watch the children anymore..

Give them time out in chairs in separate corners. Facing the corner.

If there was only 1 biter, You can put only one in the corner but sometimes it helps to put them both in the corner so that they don't start blaming each other.

In your most serious no nonsense voice say. NO Biting!

If they are only 1 1/2, it should only be for a short time out. Also if they are all having time out then you can stay there to make sure that they stay facing the corner and not making faces at each other.

They should not be allowed to look around the room ore the 10 minutes start over. You can include giving something special if they don't bite for the whole day. I like giving raffle tickets. I would write their names on the tickets so that they won't get hold of each others tickets. Then at the end of the day or the end of the week, they can pick something out of the treasure chest.

Or get to play with something special. Maybe bring home the special teddy bear for the weekend. Or have a day out at the park. The idea aiming for the recognition for doing the right thing. So play up the excitement over their improvement.

Of course they need to be told what is going to happen, good and bad and make sure they understand. This might be better done while their mom is with them but maybe not. Whatever it takes for them to hear you when you tell them the rules of the game.

Once begun, don't cave in on the rules. If they think they can get you to make an exception one time then it just ups the anti.

God Bless you, ;)
